What DiskSense collects

Nothing. DiskSense has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no crash reporting of its own. It does not send any information about you, your Mac or your files to us or to anyone else.

What DiskSense reads on your Mac

To show how your disk is used, DiskSense reads the names, sizes and modification dates of files and folders in the locations you choose to scan, plus how much space each part of your disk uses. It does not read the contents of your files. Scanning never makes iCloud Drive or other cloud drives download files.

If you grant Full Disk Access, DiskSense can also measure folders macOS otherwise protects. That permission is yours to give and remove in System Settings.

What DiskSense stores

DiskSense keeps a summary of your most recent scan in its own folder on your Mac so that Siri and Shortcuts can answer questions without a new scan. The summary includes folder and file names and sizes. It never leaves your Mac, and deleting DiskSense removes it.

Apple Intelligence

The Advisor uses Apple’s on-device Foundation Models to suggest what to clean up. The scan summary it reads is processed on your Mac and is not sent to us. Apple’s handling of Apple Intelligence is described in Apple’s own privacy policy.

Siri and Shortcuts

When you ask Siri or run a shortcut, DiskSense answers from the summary stored on your Mac. Siri requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy; DiskSense receives nothing about them beyond the action you asked for.

Things you choose to share

If you copy or save a report, or move something to the Trash, that happens only because you asked. Reports include names and sizes from your disk; where you paste or send them is up to you, and those services’ privacy policies apply.

This website

This site uses no cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic request information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site, as described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy. If you email us, we use your message only to reply.

Children

DiskSense does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
